WHAT TO GLOUGLOU THIS SUMMER (part 1)

Masieri Bianco 2014 from Angelino Maule in Veneto. My white house wine this summer, conveniently delivered in magnum bottles. Wild yeast, no filter, bla bla. Somewhere just above 200 SEK. Must be “privatimporterat” from Winetrade through Systembolaget.

Champagne Mailly Exception Blanche Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2002 (nr 95316) 549 SEK from Netterberg & Co. Big stuff this, pleasantly developed character with notes that can be associated with honey and hazelnuts. Creamy mouth-feel. Great complexity and a lingering aftertaste. Will continue to develop and become even more exciting during the next 5-10 years.

Barolo Massolino 2011 (nr 95026) 299 SEK. Such clarity! Like fresh sour cherries, peach, dried flowers, lingonberries. So full of exciting nuances and life. But also has a touch of self-flagellation with decisive tartness, astringency and potent acidity.

Mullineux White 2014 from Swartland in South Africa (nr 95186) 179 SEK. The almost embarrassingly fruity attack is balanced by it’s dry and elegant palate. Aromatic fruit in the aftertaste with a dash of vanilla, apricot and herbs. A terrific wine from Terrific Wines.

Gérard Bertrand Château L’Hospitalet La Réserve Rouge 2014, Coteaux du Languedoc (nr 73142) 159 SEK. With generosity in both nose and palate. Some smokey notes, quite distinctive, toasted style and lots of vanilla, spices, pepper. From Ward Wines.

McManis Viognier 2015, USA, California (nr 6290) 99 SEK. Scent of spring flowers, just at a good viognier-dominated wine should. Lot’s of generous, fruity taste with a slight resemblance to peaches. A little warm from the alcohol content of 13,5 %. And with a slight touch of grapefruit bitterness at the end. From Divine.

Jus de Pommes Artisanal Pétillant, France (nr 1990) 39 SEK. Pleasantly dirty, apple character reminding of a basket of over ripe apples in the basement. Also touch of apple seeds and apple peel.

Cidre Ponpon (11723) 39 SEK from Normandy. Quite developed, matur, apply style with some notes of honey and herbs.

Mâcon-Charnay Vieilles Vignes 2014 from Domaine Cordier (nr 90025) 159 SEK. Fine tuned, super fresh, elegant in a classic Bourgogne way with a pinch of hazelnutty oak character, green apples, herbs and stuff. I’d pop it to any whole, grilled fish.
