MY VERY OWN WINE AND BEVERAGE LOG FOR APRIL 2017

A mostly enjoyable mix of bitchin brews from restaurant visits close and afar, from private dinners, tastings at the Swedish Alcohol Monopoly Systembolaget, distant travels and much more. All bottles are recommended, or else there’s a warning.

Pure magic from Domaine Bobinet in Saumur. Single parcel Cab Franc treated with carbonic maceration giving turbo fruit. Enjoyed at Rosendals Trädgårdscafé at Djurgården in Stockholm.

Brand new roof top resto Tak pouring sparkling saké. Not the best producer but a nice thought.

It’s dry, inexpensive, full of character, all round and with only 5 % abv. Where do I sign!? Check out the importer Riktig Cider for more info and radical ciders.

A simple vegetarian Sunday dinner at home with something to drink.

Cedric Bouchard’s masterpiece in magnum, Roses de Jeanne. Buy!

If you get the chance to glouglou anything från the hands of Jean-Francois Ganevats able hands, grab it! Here the amazing cuvée Les Gryphées Vieille Vignes. Poured at recently opened Folii at Södermalm.

“Look no hands” winemaking at Conti Cantine del Castello Boca results in an irresistible, shamelessly velvety maturity in this wine from 1991 made in the northern tip of Piemonte.

Had a double date with these Lebanese classics at a recent Systembolaget tasting featuring wines to be released 21 April. I’d go for the younger gun, if at all.

Swedish distilleries continue to improve their products. Here som fun gin and single malt, all released 2 May 2017.

Fotografiska restaurant delivers not only primarily plant-based food, but sharp wine choices.
